Cornhole Dimensions

We at Woodgamz.com are offering cornhole dimensions so you can build your very own cornhole set. We think anyone that has wood working skills can build a cornhole set in just hours. It just takes some time and patience. However, we would not recommend making your own cornhole bags. Now that we have given your our opinion, lets explain the dimensions of cornhole boards.

Each cornhole board should have at least a half inch plywood surface.
The plywood should be at least A/B quality. This is important due to the slickness of the top. The A/B gives the quality of each side of the plywood. So for this example, A would be the quality of one side and B would be the quality of the opposing side. The "A" side should be used for the top surface of your cornhole boards. "A" grade is the best quality possible to purchase. "A" can be defect free or contain small knots, providing they are replaced with wooden plugs (the fillers having a football shape) or repaired with synthetic patch. This grade may contain occasional surface splits that are repaired with synthetic filler. The surface is always sanded and provides for smooth paintable face quality. On the bottom side of your plywood for your cornhole boards you can use a lesser quality surface.
Each plywood sheet should be cut into 4 foot by 2 foot planks. This will serve as the top of the cornhole playing surface.
Then cut a 6 inch diameter hole 6 inches down from the top of the plywood plank. The center of the hole will be 9 inches from the top of the plywood.
The hole should also be centered rom each side of the plywood.
Now that you have your top surface ready to go, you need to cut the 2"x4" now.
Cut 2 2"x4"s 48 inches long.
Cut another 2 2"x4" 21 inches long.
Make a rectangular shaped frame with the 4 pieces of wood you just cut.
Once you have your cornhole frame together measuring 48 inches by 24 inches attach the plywood plank you made earlier.
Since the front of the cornhole board is 4 inches from the ground once assembled, you need to attach legs to the back of the cornhole set in order for the back to be 12 inches from the ground.
Some people will make the legs folding so they take up less room when you want to transport them some where.
